Magical Snaefellsnes
Snaefellsjokull glacier is a 1446 m high dormant strata-volcano in the middle of Snaefellsnes National Park and the crater is ca 200 m deep.
It is the main tourist attraction in the peninsula of Snaefellsnes, towering over the national park at the far end of the 90 km long stretch of land.
The renowned writer Jules Verne wrote his science fiction in 1864, Journey to the Center of the Earth, about a group of scientists who ventured into the crater of Snaefellsjokull glacier. Snaefellsnes is one of few places in Iceland with golden and pink beaches, natural mineral springs, beautiful rhyolite mountains and volcanic craters, including the spatter cone Eldbog.
Arnarstapi and Hellnar are not to be missed. Driving around Snaefellsnes peninsula, you will pass several, small fishing villages, as well as Mt Kirkjufell which is said to be the most beautiful mountain on the peninsula.

Our family of four id the full day Magical Snæfellsnes tour with Siggi - a long but fantastic day. We really felt like we got off the beaten track and experienced a beautiful part of Iceland. From bathing in a geothermal pool in the middle of nowhere ( don't miss this experience) to walking on a pristine black sand beach this tour had it all. Siggi was a great guide - incredibly knowledgeable and excellent company for a full day and never made us feel rushed or like we were on a strict time focused itinerary. During the booking process Goeeco were a great company to deal with - responsive and prompt. Highly recommended.

Booking this tour was a great idea as I cannot imagine. MUST sees.
Absolutely amazing and I would highly recommend them. Its a family run highly professional outfit. They know how to avoid the tourist and their lodge is away from light pollution and hot sauna really helps. We were lucky with international group and and with Northern lights.…

My ten-year-old goddaughter and I had an absolutely fantastic day in the capable hands of our Goecco guide Jonas, along with one other American couple, in a comfortable SUV. In one twelve-hour day we picked berries, swam in a secluded hot spring, napped on moss-covered lava rocks, and visited waterfalls, cliffs, craters, streams, a mineral-water spring, friendly horses, a seaside guesthouse, a picturesque hundred-and-fifty-year-old church, and a black sand beach, among many other things. Jonas took special care to find things along the way that a ten-year-old would love to do, without making the adults wait around for her to do them. I can't recommend this company enough--we had a wonderful, adventurous time with them.
I signed up for an ice cave tour which ended up getting cancelled, but the excellent staff helped create a custom outing on the dates i had available for a volcano hot springs hike. the guides made sushi on hot rocks at the river.
Great tour
