8 Days Scenic Kenya Safari

Our representatives will warmly meet you on arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International airport; transfer you to your city hotel where we will brief you on your safari arrangements.

Enjoy overnight at the hotel where you are booked on bed and breakfast. Intercontinental Nairobi or similar. Intercontinental Nairobi is situated a 30-minute drive from Nairobi National Park. This hotel features a heated outdoor pool, a wellness centre with a gym and a colonial-style Safari Bar serving cocktails and light snacks. Spacious and warmly decorated, all air-conditioned rooms and suites at InterContinental Nairobi come with a satellite TV and views of Nairobi, the pool or Uhuru Park. Some accommodations have an additional lounge or kitchen. A breakfast buffet is available daily at InterContinental’s dining room.

For dinner there is an à la carte menu, and the bar organizes themed music nights regularly with R&B or jazz performances. After a swim in the outdoor pool, guests can relax in the hot tub or visit the sauna and steam room. There is also an on-site casino and a 24-hour relax lounge to read a newspaper.

Early this morning our guide/ driver will warmly meet you at your Nairobi hotel; brief you then drive you to Amboseli National Park.

You will be arriving for lunch.

This afternoon depart on a game viewing drive.

From the lodge you can enjoy the view of the snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro (weather permitting). The park is home to the lion, buffalo, cheetah, giraffe, baboon, gazelle hippo and wildebeest among others.

The name "Amboseli" comes from a Masai word meaning "salty dust", and it is one of the best places in Africa to view large herds of elephants up close. Nature lovers can explore five different habitats here ranging from the dried-up bed of Lake Amboseli, wetlands with sulphur springs, the savannah and woodlands.

Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge Set against the magnificent backdrop of Africa's highest mountain, the glittering Mount Kilimanjaro, the luxury Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge enjoys a uniquely privileged position at the heart of this world-famous national park.

Secluded within a grove of acacia trees, the safari lodge looks out over the golden savannah plains, with uninterrupted views of the mountain itself. Close by are a series of emerald green swamps, which are fed by the melting snows of Kilimanjaro. These, the only sources of water in this otherwise starkly beautiful but arid park, attract huge numbers of wallowing elephants, hippos, buffalos and plains game. Meanwhile, from the prehistoric site of Observation Hill, the sunset over Kilimanjaro is magnificent.

At the centre of ‘Masailand', the lodge's décor reflects the brilliant primary colours and iconic shapes representative of these legendary warriors. At the heart of the lodge, shaded by palm trees, is a free-form swimming pool; to either side of which stretch the rooms. Each room is housed in a single storey building opening directly on to the grounds, each reflecting a Masai Manyatta theme: each with its own hand-painted wall frescos.

Enjoy breakfast then depart to the Aberdare National Park with packed lunch. We arrive at the Aberdare Country Club to a warm welcome.

You will leave your excess luggage in safe custody at the Aberdare Country Club which is the ground serving hotel for the Ark.

Transfer to the Ark Lodge, located deep in the park & nicely surrounded by a nice, green forest.

Your night is spent watching wildlife from the lodge decks. There is also an underground bunker that takes you more closely to the wildlife as they come to the flood-lit water hole to drink and bath.

The Ark has four viewing areas from which to observe the ever-present animal activity at the waterhole and saltlick. There is also a ground level hide – the perfect spot for the discerning photographer. From this vantage point, photos of animals can be taken at eye-level.

In this intimate recess one can almost, but not quite, pat the animals, hear their sounds and smell the aroma of the night. This is a magical corner, where there is close contact with the essence that tells of unexplored Africa, and where, very often, the visitor may enjoy in solitary state the beauty of it all.

So as not to miss any animal sightings, the resident guide will buzz your room when special animals come to the waterhole. Simply throw on your provided robe and slippers, grab your camera and view nightlife at the waterhole!

Enjoy breakfast then drive to the Aberdare Country Club where you pick your luggage then proceed to the Lake Nakuru National Park with a brief stopover at Thompson's Falls.

The scenic 188km2 Lake Nakuru game park is home to the black and white rhino, prides lions, cape buffalos, waterbucks, reticulated giraffes, hartebeests among many others. When the water levels in the lake are low, the 68km2 alkaline lake is famous for the thousands of greater and lesser flamingoes. The park has the largest euphorbia forest in Africa.

These include the lion, Cape buffalo, the savannah elephant, black rhino and the elusive leopard, impalas, Masai giraffes, waterbucks, warthogs, Thompson & grant's gazelles, topis, the resident wildebeests among many others.

OPTIONAL ACTIVITY: Balloon Safari over the Mara plains or visit a traditional Masai Village (at an extra cost).

Enjoy breakfast then a full day of game viewing drive in search of the Big-Five among many other wildlife species.

In addition to wildlife, the Mara has nice, varied scenery to enjoy. The vast plains and grasslands is also home to hundreds of bird species.
