Overview

Chiang Mai is a cultural and historical city in the Northern Thailand, at one time the capital of the ancient Lanna kingdom. Located on a plain at an elevation of 316 m, surrounded by mountains and lush countryside, this lovely city is much greener and quieter than Bangkok, called as"Rose of the North".

Chiang Mai then slowly grew in cultural, trading, and economic importance to its current status as the unofficial capital of Northern Thailand, second in importance only to Bangkok.

For this tour, we will meet up in the hotel lobby in the Chiang Mai area. We then arrive at the waterfall where you will have time to swim or relax in nature. Bua Tong Waterfall is most unusual because it is a limestone waterfall and is not slippery, so it is fun to climb it. We will then have Thai food for lunch before heading back to your hotel in Chiang Mai.

Never experienced anything else quite like it. There are definitely slippery moss/algae spots on some around at the edges, but the white limestone formation is incredibly grippy and such a cool feeling to walk so effortlessly up the waterfall.

A fantastic experience - 1 of the best places in whole Thailand. That feeling when you can climb up the whole waterfall and the water is falling down around you - really worth trying. If I travelled once again in Thailand, I would visit this place again - for sure.

If you like the outdoors, this is a cool spot to visit as the waterfalls really are sticky. The water is clear and not smelly, and you feel clean even though there are lots of limestones. Fun to play around and climb the falls. Great lunch, enjoyed ourselves.

One of the best waterfalls I have ever seen! You can climb it up thanks to a rope The place is beautiful, covered by trees so it is a good place to refresh especially in the hot season

We stayed in Chiang Mai and looking for this place. This best place was perfected for adventure person like us. The view was really natural, also we really enjoyed the fun activity when we climbed up the mountain with a sticky, sleepy nice road. The best destination to visit for us ever.

An attraction you must visit. It was a great experience to go down and then go up on the waterfall. It is not slippery one, so you can enjoy climbing easily :). All the surrounding is very pretty. Take a camera with a waterproof case and you will get perfect pictures from this attraction :)

Went with my husband after a friend had recommended it, we were initially apprehensive but it ended up being one of the best days of our trip! We went in the morning, it was very quiet and peaceful. It’s a beautiful place and climbing is really fun even though I’m not usually an outdoorsy person. Be prepared to get very wet so take a towel and change of clothes. Climb barefoot for grip.

An amazing experience to walk down and up the waterfall. Not at all crowded and we had plenty of time to be able to do it a few times. And we enjoyed our lunch in this beautiful place.

This is such a cool place. Because of the Limestone particles in the water, you can actually climb up the waterfall without too much difficulty; your feet and hands stick to the stone!

This is an awesome waterfall that because of the mineralized water from its origin spring creates a surface that you can grip to and walk up.
