Anytime from the month of May to mid-June is the best time to visit Puerto Plato. These are the months after peak season, and prices are cheaper for accommodation, activities and sightseeing tours. December through to April is the busiest time to visit and when the weather is fantastic. If you are not interested in lying on the beach and do not mind rain, then July to November is great for doing activities and private tours.

The tap water is drinkable, it is advised to only drink bottled water and use tap water for the likes of brushing your teeth.
