The 9-day tour will start from Lhasa, and finish at Shigatse airport where you can fly to Chengdu to continue your China tour or connect your flight to next destination.

Arrival LhasaFly from Beijing, Shanghai to Lhasa. Arrive in Lhasa (3650m), our representative will pick up you and transfer to hotel. Get full rest for acclimatization.
Kindly note the airfare is not included, but we have to pass you the Tibet Permit at some China airports, with which you can fly to Lhasa. Please provide your detailed flight information to Lhasa while booking, so that we can arrange someone to pass you the Tibet Permit at the departure airport.

Today we will visit Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street in Lhasa.
Potala Palace is the Dalai Lama's winter palace located in the centre of Lhasa city. This palace was established in the 7th century and the 5th Dalai Lama enlarged the palace to its present size.
Jokhang Temple will provide us one of your first sights of devout Tibetans. In the temple, we will see the glistening Sakyamuni statue which is considered as a Tibetan Buddhism's rarity.
Barkhor Street is a high active free market in Tibet and it’s one of the very important places to purchase local souvenirs.

Morning time will be spent in Drepung Monastery which was built in 1416. It belongs to be the biggest monastery among the six monasteries of the Gelukpa sect.
In the afternoon, transfer to Norbulingka Palace where was a place for Dalai to spend his Summertime.

Drive Shigatse via Gampa La pass(4980m) which offers spectacular views of the Nojin Kangsang snow ranges and the turquoise lake (4400m)Yamdrok.
Experience the views of the glacial mountain peak Nojin Kangsang(7200m)and Gyangtse township(4000m), the fertile valley of the Nyang-chu River, which is the principal tributary of the Brahmaputra in Tsang.
Visit Gyangtse township and Kubum monastery and sightseeing the old part of town.

Continue driving in the Nyang-chu valley about 90 km north via Padnam township to Shigatse city (3900m) where we will visit Panchen Lama's seat place, the great Tashilumpo Monastery, a very big and complex monastery in Tibet.
Afterwards, continue driving to Sakya.

This morning we will visit Sakya Monastery. It has a history of more than 900 years and is the leading monastery for the Sakyapa school of Tibetan Buddhism.
A number of cultural relics and artefacts in the Sakya Monastery ensure that it is a historical and cultural museum, presenting its glittering past to all visitors.
Afterwards, drive about 4 hours through the high pass over 5200 m to Shegar town.

Today we will get away from the Friendship Highway and travel towards Rongbuk Monastery near the Mount Everest Base Camp.
Rongbuk Monastery is the highest monastery in the world and has been rebuilt considerably in the past decade.
From Everest base camp, you can see stunning views of Everest and the surrounding Rongbuk Valley.
Spend rest of the day exploring Everest.
Overnight in Rongbuk Monastery guesthouse. (Depending on weather, you might stay in Shegar rather than in Rongbuk)

Morning time is spent exploring Everest base camp.
Afterwards, take the same way drive back to Shigatse.
Please note the Everest view might be covered by clouds depending on the weather.

In the morning, transfer to Shigatse Airport, the trip concludes.
