Our guide was no-nonsense, challenging, supportive and direct. She didn't waste time with banal niceties; she was there to share her 20+ years experience as a photographer and she was fantastic. She wanted you to make mistakes because it was the only way to 1) test your limits, 2) get out of your comfort zone, and 3) learn to find your own, personal aesthetic. I recommend her highly. Oh, by the way, her humour is funny and dry -- perfect for our cloudy and wet time together in Central Park.

This was my first photo tour. My friend booked this experience for us and I really gained a lot of information. Overall I would definitely recommend this even for the casual photographer.

Both of us with not much experience in shooting in cities, learned a ton from our instructor - lots of good feedback, tips and tricks, best locations, what to do, what to avoid - recommended!

We started the safari by discussing my expectations and my skill level as a photographer- then we were off to start snapping! The safari began at Bethesda Fountain, and over the 2 hours, we covered a large circle around the area. As a beginner, I was hoping for a hands-on, engaging experience; this is exactly what was provided. We discussed not only the importance of what you photograph, but why. We found ourselves in (intentionally) tough lighting situations where we had to prioritize one subject over another. We captured details of grand ceilings, the massiveness of trees, and movement in the elaborate design of Central Park. Great experience.

This was my fourth time taking a New York Photo Safari, this time the Central Park tour. The Instructor typically starts each tour by asking each person what they hope to get out of it and by going over some photography principles. She will then give you an assignment and then critique your work and give tips on how to improve your photos.

Great tour through Central Park with lots of beautiful nature to take photos of. The pace was just perfect, the tour guide was absolutely fantastic. She provided me with crucial photography tips while still giving me enough free choices in regards to taking photos. She was really nice, helpful and showed great humour which made the tour enjoyable. Long story short: Great experience with lots to do and great tour guide.
