Overview

DMZ is the Korea Demilitarised Zone between North Korea and South Korea. These days, DMZ has been one of the most popular tourist spots.

The third tunnel was discovered in October 1978. It is designed for an invasion of the south.

North Korea insisted that it was designed for a surprise attack on the north by South Korea when it was found out. But it was proved that North Korean’s insistence is untrue because traces of blasting inside the tunnel were going to the south. The tunnel height is 2m (6.5"), width is 2m and length is 1,635m (1.6km).

This tunnel's scale is similar with The 2nd Infiltration Tunnel, but it is more threatening than 1st and 2nd Infiltration Tunnel. The reason why it is more threatening than others that the 3rd Infiltration Tunnel has been located 52km far from Seoul, it means it is available for movement of 30,000 forces just an hour.
