Overview

Experience the Wicklow Mountains Tour from Dublin, including stunning Glendalough, on this day trip from Dublin. Late lunch/early dinner in Fitzgerald's Pub. The day tour of Wicklow is guaranteed to be one of the highlights of your visit to Ireland.

You may arrive a stranger but you will leave a friend. Your most memorable day in Ireland is enhanced by our award-winning Wicklow Mountains Tour guides. Absorb their tall tales and legends of Glencree Valley and the famous Sally Gap. Soak up the breathtaking Wicklow mountain scenery and rolling green countryside at locations made famous by movies such as Braveheart, P.S. I Love You & TV series Vikings.

The stunning scenery of our route includes Glencree Valley, a photo stop at the Guinness Lakes (Tay), the boglands and heather fields of the Sally gap and Glendalough. Situated in the heart of the Wicklow Mountains, the 10th century monastic round tower settlement in Glendalough is the jewel in the crown of the Wicklow Mountains Tour. Offering up leisurely (or more challenging) walkways to the lower and upper lakes, Glendalough is a must for any visit to Ireland.

Make sure you have your camera at the ready! Then into Fitzgerald's Pub for a hearty late lunch-early dinner (meal deal special with complimentary drink available for all on board). When we first heard Richie's south-east England accent we were a bit surprised. But he was one of the best tour guides we have had on a one day tour like this (as well as being a great driver when we got to the narrow bends in the road). Richie had a very engaging mix of Irish history, his own stories and live music to keep us company all day long (without overwhelming us with anyone strand of that mix for too long :).We made a list of places en route to which we wanted to return: the lovely little village of Enniskerry, the tranquil setting plus tasty food at the Glencree peace and reconciliation center, the quaint village of Avoca with its Handweavers shop, the Old Mountain Road with its lovely views of Lough Bray and Lough Tay (aka Guinness Lake, with Luggala, the ancestral Guinness home and contemporary retreat for rock musicians), and the bracing walk in the forest above the monastery ruins at Glendalough.

We had a lovely day in the mountains. With a good diversity of photo stops, time to explore the walking trails on your own and interesting facts and stories of our driver Eoin; the day was a great success. I would recommend joining the tour for a day to escape the busy streets of Dublin.

My friend and I had a great time today with Eoin. The trip was interesting and the Wicklow Mountains are really beautiful. It was much fun and we are really happy that we had Eoin as our Bus driver. He is so nice and kind and I love his sense of humour.

It was a wonderful trip accompanied by an interesting storyteller Richie. He has this amazing skill of fitting his huge bus into tiny Irish roads. Some sort of art, honestly. The trip was super interesting and gave us positive emotions. Thank you!

A very well organized tour through the stunningly beautiful views and colours of the Wicklow mountains and the magical atmospheres of Glendalough. What made, however, the tour absolutely unforgettable was the presence of our guide, EOIN, who was able to inform and entertain for the whole day a very mixed group of 16 different nationalities. While expertly driving through narrow mountain roads, he gave us a wealth of information and juicy anecdotes which were invaluable to enrich the enjoyment of the brief experience of places charged with history and natural beauty. He was also able to captivate the attention and interest of my 10 and 13-year-old children, who conversed with him throughout the day (making good use of their current knowledge of the English language) and enjoyed every minute of it. I rarely go on organized tours, but this was well worth doing and I would strongly recommend it.

A smooth ride, a funny and good driver, with wonderful sights that will remain unforgettable. Unfortunately, due to the weather we were not able to visit Glencree nor the ‘P.S., I Love you’ Bridge, however, Richie our driver took us to the Powerscourt Gardens which were magnificent! Totally would recommend!!
