Kiambi Safari owns and operates an exclusive lodge in the Lower Zambezi Valley – Kiambi Lower Zambezi, situated in the Chiawa Game Management area of the Zambezi Valley, in a prime location on the confluence of the Zambezi and Kafue Rivers. The Lodge welcomed the first guests at Kiambi Lower Zambezi in May 1999 and has from its inception, enchanted one and all by truly capturing the essence of the Lower Zambezi. We offer a beautiful shady camping ground, for eight campsites, tailored for our budget traveller with an air-conditioned campsite bar, a big screen TV, DSTV, pool table and campsite swimming pool, communal fireplace and wash-up areas, all overlooking the Zambezi River. Tents are pitched on beautifully manicured lawns in a relaxing cool environment. Ablutions are clean and tidy with hot water.

Each one of the eight campsites has a power outlet. Our staff come around to light the campfires each day should you require. Wood as well as charcoal are sold and can be arranged at the lodge reception upon arrival. Meals are available from the lodge restaurant at the set menu prices, should space be available.

Mfuwe lodge -South Luangwa National Park

What To Expect

Upon arrival at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in Lusaka, our representative will welcome you and assist with luggage then transfer to Cresta Golfview Hotel where you will relax and overnight.

Breakfast in the morning and check out of the hotel then transfer of about 3.5hrs to Kiambi Safari Lodge in Lower Zambezi National Park.

You will arrive check in and then lunch and free time to relax and enjoy the river view.

Breakfast and then pick up for Three hours Guided Canoe Safari and return to the lodge almost in time for lunch and free time to relax.

In the afternoon you will have one hour of sunset Cruise to enjoy the African sunset then return to the lodge right before dark, relax enjoy some drinks from the bar and snack then later dinner will be served.

Breakfast and then around 9 am you will be picked up by your guide who will take you on 6 hours of Game Cruise on the Zambezi river. He will start with the safety briefing and also the program of the safari.

The Lodge will prepare a picnic Lunch that you will carry with you together with some refreshments. Enjoy your Game Cruise with a view of fantastic wild animals and during lunch time your guide will find a nice spot and set up the table for lunch.

Relax a bit and continue with your cruise then return to the lodge by 3 pm. Relax and later dinner in the evening.

Breakfast in the morning at Kiambi Safari Lodge and then you will check out and depending on your flight time to Mfuwe you will be picked by our driver and transfer to Lusaka at least an hour before your flight time.

When you arrive at Mfuwe Airport you will be met by the guide from Mfuwe Lodge who will then take you on about 45 minutes road adventure.

Check in at the lodge and lunch depending on your arrival time. Then relax and later afternoon tea/coffee and snacks then you will leave for your afternoon/night game drive of about fours return to the lodge almost in time for dinner and later bed time at your convenient time.

Breakfast in the morning and then you will leave for shared and schedules morning game drive of about fours return to the lodge almost in time for brunch and free time to relax.

Later in the after you will enjoy tea/coffee then leave for the afternoon game drive returning to the lodge almost in time for dinner and then bedtime at your convenient.

Note: In the morning you may opt for Walking Safari instead of Morning Game Drive – Kindly inform us if you are keen on this and its all included.

Today we start with a warm and nice buffet breakfast then we are experiencing something extraordinary today! After breakfast we are picked for the tour of Mulberry Mongoose – Is The Local Jewelry and Craft Shop run by women from the local community with an initiative to help Protect the Country's Wildlife and also reinvest into the community for sustainable tourism.

The Ladies will take you through the tour from Production the shop and you will learn a lot from these creative girls do and you will leave with an experience of your lifetime and its also the great time to take a piece of Africa with you by buying a souvenir.

After this Tour, you will be taken on about 45-minutes road transfer to Kawaza Cultural Village for a Tour of about 4 hours. This will give you a very genuine glimpse into the traditional Kunda life. This is a super experience; it really is a slice of real African village life!

On arrival at Kawaza village guests are met by Constantino, the village guide who is also the manager of the tourism project. He will introduce guests to some of the villagers and ask which activities they may be interested in visiting.

You will be given an extensive tour of the school and its facilities then it will be followed by a visit to the local clinic which is a short drive from the village. Then you will be given a tour of the village where you chat to the local people and then depending on the time you may also visit the local healer who will explain the various medicinal uses of herbs and traditional healing methods.

Also Guests are invited to take part in everyday village activities such as brewing local beer, grinding the maze, drawing water at the well and picking maize in the fields this is to make sure you have that real African feel and then you will be served lunch prepared in a local way with some local dances and you will then return to the lodge in time for the afternoon/night game. Then dinner and bedtime.

Breakfast and morning game drive return to the lodge to check out and lunch. Then depending on your flight time to Lusaka your guide from Mfuwe Lodge will transfer you to the airport and 1hr flight to Lusaka.

When you arrive in Lusaka our driver will be waiting for you then pick and transfer to Cresta Golfview Hotel where you stay for 2 nights. Check-in and relax.

Breakfast and then you will Depart 08:30hrs for your Half Day City Tour depending on time you Will Cover Some Of the Following Places; Lusaka Museum With a Lot of History On Our Mother Zambia, Kabwata Cultural Village Within The Township Of Kabwata, Chilenje Township ( Former Residence Of Zambia’s First Republican President).

Drive Through Mtendere Township to the  City Centre, Drive To Soweto Market & See How Business Is Being Conducted In These Different Places and you be eventually be Dropped Off at the hotel around 13:30hrs (1:30 PM) to have lunch and relax.
