I’m a history buff and a devout Christian, so this tour was a dream come true! The day started early with a private driver picking us up from our Taksim hotel in a super comfortable van with plush seats and a smooth ride to the airport. The included flight to Izmir was quick, about an hour, and we were greeted by our guide, Aysha, who knew the Bible inside and out. Walking through Ephesus was unreal. I stood in the Grand Theatre imagining Paul’s sermons to the Ephesians, and the Celsus Library’s architecture blew me away. The Terrace Houses were like a time capsule with frescoes and floors that made me picture Roman life. The House of the Virgin Mary was a quiet, holy moment. I could feel the reverence there. St. John’s Basilica, with its massive columns, felt so grand, and the Temple of Artemis, though just ruins, still carried weight as a Wonder of the World. Lunch was delicious with lamb kebabs, hummus, and baklava, and the private transfers kept everything seamless. Back in Istanbul by evening, I’m still processing how incredible this was!

A whirlwind, but bellissimo! The Library of Celsus at sunrise? Magic. Our guide explained the acoustics of the theater—I sang an aria, and it echoed! Lunch was a feast, but espresso after would’ve been cherry on top. Still, five stars for convenience.

Puxa, this tour thought of everything! Even sunscreen in the van. Ephesus is surreal—like Pompeii but less crowded. The guide made Artemis’ temple sound mythical. Lunch’s lentil soup? Comfort food at its best. Long day, but ending with a hotel drop-off? Perfeito.
