Mount Toubkal Private 2 Days Trek From Marrakech

5 / 5 total 7 reviews
Duration: 2 days
Product code: 848
Overview

Experience 2 days of exhilarating treks with this guided tour to Mount Toubkal.

The range includes Jbel Toubkal, which at 4,167 m is the highest in the range and lies in Toubkal National Park.

The range serves as a weather system barrier in Morocco running east-west and separating the Sahara’s climatic influences, which are particularly pronounced in the summer, from the more Mediterranean climate to the north, resulting in dramatic changes in temperature across the range.

In the higher elevations in the range snow falls regularly, allowing winter sports. Snow lasts well into late spring in the High Atlas, mostly on the northern faces of the range.

What To Expect

After an early breakfast at the hotel in Marrakech, our driver will pick you up and take you to the heart of Morocco’s High Atlas mountains.

The trek starts from Imlil (1740m), a small Berber village located at 1740m above the sea level, at 67km on the south west of Marrakech.

Here you will meet the team who will accompany you during this amazing adventure, the driver will drop you off in the village, the muleteers will deal with your luggage, food & all other equipment that we usually provide for our clients.

Within half an hour you start the walk with an experienced mountain guide through the Berber villages following a mule track which will take you to the mountain hut via the shrine Sidi Chamhrouch (2500m) where you will have your picnic lunch prepared in advance by our cook.

After lunch & a short break, continue towards the refuge (3200m), as the mules walk faster, the muleteers & cook, will go on ahead & will be waiting for you at the hut or camp.

Have a tasty mint tea upon arrival while you will enjoying the scenic Mountain surrounded the based camp. The hot shower is available to clean your body and be ready for the next day.

Option: the night could be spent in the Toubkal Refuge or in the tents during the summer time.  5 hours walking.

It was the first time I climbed a mountain, the road was a bit tough for a beginner like me but it was very interesting to see.Everything was amazing from the start till the end.You just have to start a bit early from imlil village so you make it in 5 or 6 hours to the refugee camp. Try to avoid carrying heavy stuffs because it will slow you down, there are mules you that carry your stuff for you it is absolutely a beautiful trip.

It was really difficult to get on top for me, as I don't have any experience in mountaineering, but it was worth.
