Wangdue Phodrang: Wangdue Phodrang (previously spelled Wangdi Phodrang) is a dzongkhag (district) of central Bhutan. This is also the name of the dzong (built in 1638) which dominates the district and the name of the small market town outside the gates of this dzong. The name is said to have been given by the Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal who was searching for the best location for a dzong to prevent incursions from the south. The word “Wangdue” means unification of Country, and “Phodrang” means Palace

From the very beginning till the last day everything was perfectly organized to suit our needs. All our tour went smoothly. We had lots of request and our guide did this best to satisfy every single wish we had.Every day we spent in Bhutan was memorable.I have traveled a lot around the world with different tour companies, but I would say this one is the best! There was that personal touch that makes a tour very special and memorable. I would definitely like to come back to Bhutan,

The three of us—my mother, husband, and I—had dream of visiting Bhutan for years. Following my mom’s 60th birthday, we finally made it happen last month with privatetour.com!!! We highly recommend working with them: from the planning phase and our email correspondence with Ms.G Brown, to the very end of our trip and farewells at the airport, their hospitality and guidance were flawless from start to finish. We are endlessly grateful for the opportunity to visit this beautiful country. The scope of our adventure was only limited by time: as such, we will be back! And we would work with privatetour.com again—especially knowing that some of their tour proceeds are used to support the local economy, as well as charitable activities.
