Vietnam Bike Tour - See Vietnam by Bike.

There are no better way to experience the real Vietnam by bike. It's one of the best way to see Vietnam from the South of Saigon city to Hanoi capital and up to Sapa mountainous town.

Cycling from villages to villages, from town to town and from hidden coastline to the heritage roads of Hoi An, Hue citadel and also to Ninh Binh, a great place of natural grottoes.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Saigon Arrival                                                                                                                                                                                                    D          
Upon your arrival in Saigon City,pick up by Countryside Adventures guide and transfer to your
 hotel by WA .
In the late afternoon we meet our guide and fellow group members for a briefing and having welcome dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in Saigon City.


Day 2: Saigon - Dalat.                                                                                                                                                                                                              B/L/D

We start as early as possiple today as the road to the highland town of Dalat! Also known as 'Le Petit Paris', due to its popularity during the French-Colonial period, 
Dalat is a charming hill station with superb quiet country lanes and villages to explored by bike. 
Riding from the airport to enjoy spectacular view of its location 1,000 meters above the sea level.

Day 3: Dalat - Nha Trang Beach City.                                                                                                                                                                            B/L          
Our departure from Dalat begins with gentle ride via the lakes of Xuan Huong through flower and fruit plantations. 
Our destination today is the vibrant resort of Nha Trang, via the spectacular Hon Giao pass (2062M). Famed for its junk boats and turquoise waters Nha Trang ends our day with a touch of paradise!

Day 4: Nha Trang relaxing day                                                                                                                                                                                                  B 
This free day at Vietnam's popular coastal hang-out of Nha Trang is yours to recharge and relax! Kick back and chill out on the beach or take to the waters on a junk boat,
today you can do as little or as much activity as you want. overnight in Nha Trang

 

Day 5: Nha Trang - Quy Nhon                                                                                                                                                                                               B/L 
From Nha Trang we transfer along peaceful coastal line , as we follow rail tracks through Viet settlements framed by classic views of terraced farms, pot-bellied pigs and the familiar sight of conical hats bobbing around in the distance.
Rounding the day off we finish at the lagoons and lakes of Quinhon.

Day 6: Quy Nhon - Quang Ngai                                                                                                                                                                                            B/L 
Riding the coastal road to the Tra O Lagoon, we cycle through the Bing Dinh province following quiet farmers' lanes as we cycle from village to village. 
After refuelling with a traditional lunch we continue onwards to our accommodation at Quang Ngai for the night.

Day 7: Quang Ngai - Hoi An                                                                                                                                                                                                   B/L/D
This morning we take a guided tour of the nearby My Lai war memorial site. 
Sadly one of the worst massacres of Vietnam War, My Lai has become a poignant reminder in conveying the horrors of war. 
After our tour, we transfer by private bus, and start riding at Tam Ky as we pedal onto possible the most charming coastal town in Vietnam, Hoi-An.

Day 8: Hoi An - My son hollyland                                                                                                                                                                                            B/L .
We leave the delights of Hoi-An and cycle west to the impressive archaeological site of My Son. Once the ancient centre of the Cham civilisation, this scenic ride to the ruins is just as impressive as the ruins themselves. 
Returning to Hoi-An by private transfer, the evening is free to discover the historic UNESCO listed streets of Hoi An.

Day 9: Hoi An - Hue Citadel                                                                                                                                                                                                     B/L 
With our cycling legs in good shape we tackle the historic Hai Van Pass. In years gone by, Hai Van was a natural division between the two kingdoms of Da Nang and Dai Viet. 
As we take a steady cycle, our climb opens up to present us with spectacular views of the South China Sea. Having earned our descent, we head for the ancient attractions of Hue.

Day 10: Hue countryside by bike                                                                                                                                                                                             B/L.
Cycling out to the banks of the Perfume River, we swap bikes for a boat ride enabling us to reach the best vantage points of this former capital of the Nguyen Dynasty. 
Its the back to dry land as we ride back to Hue for a quick freshen before boarding our overnight sleeper train to Ninh Binh.

 Day 11: Night train to Ninh Binh.                                                                                                                                                                                         B/L   
Arriving in the buzz of the morning we refresh and refuel before cycling out into an incredible change of scenery. 
Conical hats bob around rice paddies as stunning limestone towers make up the stunning Karst Mountain skyline. 

Afternoon, transfer to Hanoi.Evening is free to explore Hanoi city. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 12:Hanoi city – Night Train to Sapa.                                                                                                                                                                                B/L

Morning, take a guided tour to explore the capital of Vietnam, Hanoi city. The city is one of the oldest one in Southeast asia.

Take a walk through the Old quarter will give you a close look of the daily life of Hanoian.

The trip will also show you to the first University dated in 11th century.

The final visit to Ho Chi Minh mausoleum and his living quarter.

Afternoon is free on your own to explore the city until time to transfer to the train station for your night train to Lao Cai.

Day 13:Lao Cai - Sapa                                                                                                                                                                                                                   B/L

Our guide and driver will meet you at Lao Cai Station. Then transfer to Coc Ly market or similar one, which is situated far from Sapa. Enjoy the peaceful life of 6 different minority peoples (Flower H'mong, Black Dzao, Tay, Dzay, HaNhi and Nung).

The market is the chance for the minorities to meet and share joy and sorrows after the crops, to exchange one another's experience. Say goodbye to the market and get down onto a boat along Chay river. You are bound to feel great and find yourselves smaller among high rock mountains and to be surprised at white and breathtakingly waterfalls. The Fairy Cave is located deeply in the rocks. Get off the boat to visit a village of the Tay Minority (Trung Do village) by the river. After the boat trip, visit a small town - BaoNhai and then back to Sapa by jeep or motorbike. O/N at the hotel in Sapa.

Day 14:  Sapa - Lao Chai - Ta Van - Sapa – Lao Cai.                                                                                                                                       B/L/D       

Morning,  taking 6 km of walking down to the south east of Sapa along the side of Muong Hoa valley to Y Linh Ho village of the Black H’mong. Continue on 2km of trekking down to Lao Chai village of the H’mong. Lunch at a local family, and then walk through terraced rice fields to Ta Van village of the Dzay minority people where we stay for the night. It gives you a worth chance for you to learn about the local house architecture which is full of their daily life styles and exclusive custom. Enjoy the landscapes…on the way.take Car back to Lao Cai Station for the night train to Hanoi. Have dinner before getting on the train.

Day 15: Hanoi Home Departure                                                                                                                                                                                       B

Upon of your arrival at the train station in Hanoi. Pick up and transfer to your hotel. Ends of wonderful trip in Vietnam. You can book hotel for extra night in Hanoi or continue your trip to Cambodia or Laos. Services ends after transfer you to your selected hotel in Hanoi.

I had a great experience of cycling in Vietnam with an italian group of people thanks to the Countryside Adventures team. Really professional and helpful with everyone, Joe and Thai guided us discovering the countryside in a totally safe way.. and with so much fun! We had the chance to get in contact with the real vietnamese culture of people and villages. Definitely an experience worth of doing!
