Belfast Castle
1 Cave Hill Visitors Centre will be your first stop on a private guided tour of Belfast Castle which is situated on Antrim Road. The stunning Castle itself dates all the way back to the 12th century and has undergone many additions and renovations since then. The grounds of the Castle and Cave Hill Country Park are beautiful with great walks and sightseeing opportunities for tourists.
The Botanic Gardens
2 Tours of Belfast's Botanic Gardens are a great way to see these beautifully kept grounds which were established in the early 1800's. Set on 28 acres, there is a lot to see in the Gardens like the Palm House filled with beautiful birds of paradise and uniquely tricky to pronounce tropical plants. There is the Tropical Ravine which protects and stores some of the worlds rarest and oldest seeds.
St. Annes Cathedral
3 The main Anglican Church of Ireland in Belfast is the visually beautiful St. Anne's Church. Tours of the Church are in demand as the interior has exquisite decorative features. The Mosaic ceiling, carved stonework, marble tiles and stained glass windows are magnificent and well worth visiting. There are some tomb's located in the Church including the Tomb of Sir. Edward Carson, a visit here is a must do.
Belfast Opera House
4 Guided tours of Belfast's Grand Opera House are readily available, but bookings are required. The beautiful building hosts many operas, live theatre performances and musicals to the delight of the local people and visitors to the City of Belfast. An extension was added in 2006, and since that period it has improved in every way allowing big productions to come to Belfast.
Waterfront Hall
5 Waterfront Hall is located in the Titanic Quarter and looking over the River Lagan. The famous conference venue is world class and shows how the new Belfast has improved and is quickly becoming a go-to destination. Belfast city guided tours has the Hall as one of its stops as the building is beautiful and particularly stunning at night should you choose to go on a city night tour.
The Ulster Museum
6 The Ulster Museum recently underwent a radical refurbishment and is on every Belfast City Tour. The Egyptian Mummy Princess Takabuti is located at the Museum which is ironic as she was unwrapped in Belfast back in the 1800's. There are both modern and classic exhibitions on display, and the Museum does not shy away from the troubles with exhibits and collections from the era spread around the multiple floors of the museum.
Crumlin Jail
7 Closed in 1996 the Crumlin Road Jail (Gaol) was re-opened in 2012 as a tourist attraction. Guided tours of the jail will tell you of the sometimes gruesome history of the prison. You will be escorted to the condemned man's cells, the governor's office, the underground tunnel system and the cells. Many inmates were women and children, and they were divided between the Republican and Loyalist sections of the prison.
Belfast Zoo
8 The Belfast Zoo is situated on over 50 acres of land with stunning views over Belfast Lough and super guided tours. The Zoo dates back to the 1930's and is one of the oldest and dearest tourist attractions in the city. Home to Asian Elephants, Lemurs, Bears, Tigers and Lions there is something for all the family to see here. The rainforest tour is very popular and a perfect way to learn about the environment.
Stormont
9 Stormont is the government building of The Northern Ireland Assembly Power Sharing Executive where decisions on the running of Northern Ireland are made. Once many of the politicians who now site on the executive were sworn enemies, but they work together to keep peace in the North of Ireland. A visit and tour to this historic place is a necessity when you are visiting Belfast.
The Titanic Experience
10 Positioned on the original slipway where the doomed but fabulous Titanic was built is a popular tourist attraction in Northern Ireland "The Titanic Exhibition". This is a unique world-class museum, and a must do while visiting this region. It will give you a detailed account of the many people and events of that fateful night, watch and see everything from the conception of the great Ship to the last flickering images of the great lady sailing out to sea.
