Uganda is a land of contrasts; tangled jungle, a snow-capped fabled mountain of the moon, roaring rapids, vast sparkling lakes, terraced hillsides, grassy plains, arid savanna, deep forest… and breathtaking beauty everywhere you look.

In a matter of days you can see some of the world’s rarest creatures: go tracking in the forest to see Gorillas and Chimps, search the marshlands for the elusive Shoebill, wander the forest floor following the trail of Forest Elephants, visit a Karamojong tribe or a Batwa (pygmy) village.

Let Home to Africa take you on this remarkable 10-Days into the wild Pearl of Africa – Uganda that you won’t forget so soon…

Fun: Road trip, boat trip, game drive, gorilla trekking.

Bragging Right: Getting up close with the world’s rarest and endangered gorillas.

This Is a Country Worth Knowing and It Is Definitely Worth Seeing.

Day 2: Transfer to Murchison Fall National Park
Your Uganda Adventure Safari begins with an early morning drive to Murchison Falls National Park. Enroute, stop by The Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. It is best to depart not later than 6 am since this is going to be a busy day and you do not want to waste much of you morning hour sitting behind Kampala rush hour traffic especially on a business day. We provide bottled water along the journey. This sanctuary a restoration of the Rhinos who were hunted into extinction during the war ravaged years in Uganda’s past. Rhinos are hunted for their horns. The horns are made into handles for daggers and swords in places such as Yemen and ground into medicine in China. Here Rhinos are bred and prepared for reintroduction. The sanctuary ranger will meet you upon arrival and give you an introduction to the Sanctuary and some information about our Rhinos. Depending on where the rhinos are, you will drive to the closest point and approach the rhinos on while walking. You will then have a chance to watch the rhinos in their habitat at a very close and very safe, point. Ziwa Rhino sanctuary is protected by 24 hour security and a solar powered electrical fence. Visited: July 2017   The trip of a lifetime! We just returned from the 10 Day Epic Gorilla & Wildlife Safari and it was just wonderful. Uganda had all the activities we wished for and Home To Africa Tours & Travel had an affordable itinerary that did not disappoint. Elias and Paul met us at the airport and made sure we were looked after and comfortable for the entire trip. Paul is an excellent and knowledgeable guide and very good at spotting animals. We saw the big five animals and so many more and enjoyed multiple game drives and boat rides. Each of the five national parks we visited had their own atmosphere and attributes and we loved them all. This itinerary required many hours of road travel but there was so much to see while riding through the countryside. It was endlessly interesting to see the trading centers, homes, people, and especially the friendly children of Uganda. We particularly enjoyed the game drives and were amazed at all the animal sightings. Our lodgings were comfortable with good food and we did not have to worry about a thing as Paul is an experienced guide and led us along on a trip we will never forget. Home To Africa Tours arranged the next leg of our trip to Victoria Falls which was a sight to see and those plans all fell into place without a hitch. My mind is still so full from all the things I learned on this trip and I have over 300 photos to enjoy. If you want to go on an African Safari complete with a chimpanzee and gorilla trek, go to Uganda. If you want a tour that caters to your interests and comforts and is affordable, choose Home To Africa Tours and Travel. We had an excellent experience!

Making a plan, to fit my requirementsI was on conference in Uganda, and decided to try my luck in doing a Gorilla tour, with the 2,5 days I had available after the conference, before my flight home. Not only was Elly very quick to respond to my initial enquiries (and all mail subsequently), but he was also able to tailor the usual 3 days package, which the other operators did not offer. By changing my second night stay, he was able to get me back to the airport on time, without risking driving at night after the trekking. My pick up was 10 minutes early (always a good sign), accompanied by a company representative, and the guide. The tour guide, Tom Karwani, was clearly experienced. His vehicle was super clean, neat and in perfect working order. I was travelling solo, and spent the next 3 days with Tom, driving, eating, chatting, enjoying the scenery and companionable silences. We talked about politics (both his and mine), families, economies, conservation and I challenged him to a quiz app. After a few false starts, we eventually made the high scores!About the accommodation? Night one was rustic. I love camping, so finding a perfectly located tented camp in the forest, was a treat. And hot water shower luxury is always a bargain when "eco-locating". The second best score Broadbill camp earned, was for the roaring lounge fire, on a cold night. And the best score, was for the hot water bottle in my bed. Made a great cocoon nest for the night. I am sorry I could not stay there the second night. The gorilla excursion went off without a hitch. All paperwork was done, and the rangers were professional, friendly and helpful. Use of porters is not required, but I was happy to support the local community in this way. And I was happy to tip the staff, for tracking the gorillas from early morning, resulting in our small group finding the gorillas within 10 minutes. I understand we were particularly lucky in this regard. The gorillas you have to experience for yourself. It is very special. The second night was spent in a superb modern and top class hotel in Mbarara. Igongo Country Hotel. With all the modern conveniences, and a personal guided tour of the museum and culture village, I enjoyed my stay here too.All in all, the service providers Elly had picked, and the regular whatsapps to check if everything was OK, made my adventure thoroughly enjoyable, and safe. Thank you.

We did the lot! Well planned and well delivered Safari experience! We were greeted at Entebbe airport and from there we knew that we were going to be in safe hands with our guide Moses. We travelled across 5 of the National Parks over 12 days, which was a lot of travelling but totally worth it. We started our Safari at Murchison National Park, enjoyed all of the wildlife including seeing the stunning falls and a Leopard! We then travelled South to Kibale Forest, due to a unavoidable diversion the journey took longer than originally planned so we arrived in the dark at Chimps Nest. The next day we did the Chimp trekking in to the forest and it was so incredible to see a whole family of Chimpanzees come down from the trees and join us. We then travelled further south again and stopped at Queen Elizabeth National Park, from the lodge we stayed at we could see and hear the Hippo in the river below. In this National Park we finally were able to see the King of the Cats a pair of Lions and then separately in Ishasha a Lioness climbing in a tree! Our next stop was Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and the hospitality of staff here at Trekkers Tavern was so wonderful and it truly was the highlight of the trip to see Gorillas and spend over an hour with a group of 12 of them. It was a real moment in life to treasure. Our final National Park that we went to was Lake Mburu National Park were we were nearly scared by a cheeky monkey trying to jump in to the car (fortunately only nearly!) It was also lovely that we were able to stop for a while to see some friends of our in Lukaya on our way back towards Kampala. We also managed to then have a day trip to Jinja which was nice to see including one of the sources of the Nile

The planning process (conducted solely via email) kept us well-informed, and Paul continued that during our trip, making sure we knew what to expect each day (e.g., lots of travel, or an early morning to get to the park at sunrise). Our activities were a lot of fun. Paul himself is a delight -- he offered interesting information about parts of Uganda and Ugandan culture during our long drives, and was incredible at spotting animals when we were in the park. The night before our gorilla trekking, Paul gave us a very good idea of what to expect the next morning. The accommodations that Home to Africa selected for us were wonderful -- both the proprietors and other guests were friendly and kind. All in all, the trip exceeded my expectations.Thank you to Edward, Elias, and especially Paul for making our trip memorable for all the right reasons. :)

First trip to UgandaOur first trip to Uganda was great. Home to Africa Tours and Travel looked after us well. We were very lucky to see the tree climbing lions in Ishasha, had great sightings of the Gorillas up close. By chance ended up in a Chimp trek instead of a nature walk. That was fantastic, would have been very disappointed to have missed it and learnt it was an option to do instead of a nature walk, definitely clients should be advised of this option. The travel company cannot be blamed for the state of the roads in parts of the Queen Elizabeth National Park, but it would have good to advise clients of it in advance, plus the lengthy duration of travel between each place on the itinerary.Park View was a fantastic lodge.

They picked me up at my guest house in Entebbe but the safari car they picked me up in ended up having some issues so we had to switch to my guides personal van. It ended up working out fine but this put our schedule off track. They also over charged me by $20 upon arrival but by the time I noticed I was not able to meet them to get it back. The accommodation during the safari was perfect and the tours that were arranged were fabulous. We were never in a hurry and even during the day I could ask about things I wanted to see or do. Also everywhere we went the people were friendly. Paul, my guide during the safari, knew a lot about Uganda, Eastern Africa, animals, culture and history. That made my experience complete!

Lake Mburo safari - great trip!I had two days in Uganda to make a small safari - Home to Africa Tours offered me a splendid tour to Lake Mburo National Park with great game drives and a bot trip on a big lake to spot hippos, of which I got to see many. This park was a beautiful destination, and only 4,5 driving from Entebbe, which offered me the opportunity to also view something of Uganda itself. The service and tailor made attitude of Home to Africa Tours was fantastic - they were very responsive, reliable, to the point and very clear in their communication. Lake Mburo does not offer the Big 5 but as I was limited in my time and this park was my best option, I thoroughly appreciated the game drives there (with a great and competent guide!) in which I got to spot giraffes, zebras, warthogs, vulgars, birds, hippos and many antelopes and deers. The accommodation (lovely safari lodge) was at the edge of the park, very hospitable people with good food accompanied by a good glass of wine of you like. I would definitely choose Home to Africa Tours again my I have the opportunity to do a next safari in Uganda - they offer many different tours.

This was my first safari experience! And I enjoy it a lot! Definetly,8-days Safari is not enough to explore Uganda. Or trip was organised by Home to Africa with a professional guide. Everybody welcomes her wherever we go! Amazing! I felt safety! That is an important thing in Africa! My son studied from Germany so he liked speaking german, Paul our tour guide was very smart at german speaking , something i did not expect in Uganda. we like you and hope to return one day .

Our experience with Home to Africa ToursPaul was an amazing tour guide. His passion and love for what he does came through every single day. He provided us with educational experiences and went above and beyond day after day. Paul is a great asset to the Tourism industry . We appreciate the email response we had with Elias, it was so fast and standard. The price quote was affordable and we got value for every penny we paid for . I and my wife travelled to uganda two months ago , this has been our long time dream , both of us are happy that our dream came true. Sure my wife will review this tour too. We look forward to meeting you again next year as we promised. We already miss you.

Fantastic time in Uganda with Home To Africa Tours and travel. In June, I , my wife and my 4 children planned to make a trip to Africa, we urgued on which country to go to. My elder son suggested Uganda . We contacted several companies regarding our trip to Uganda but we selected Home To Africa Tours and Travel company because of the way were packages were setup, had a unique approach to packaging of tours and their budget was affordable. My family and I have just returned from a two week trip round southwestern Uganda (Kibale Forest, Queen Elizabeth National Park, and Lake Mburo). Our driver/guide, Paul, was a fount of knowledge, a superb driver and a real pleasure to be with for the whole of the trip. We have come back keen to visit other parts of Uganda in the future and would definitely go to Home To Africa Tours and Travel Again . We already miss Uganda. we will surely send more of our friends to Home To Africa Tours and Travel.

Our first experience in UgandaIts still like a dream , I cant believe all that I saw in a wonderful small country Uganda.Home To Africa Tours and Travel took amazing care of us throughout our three day excursion. They were also incredibly helpful in getting the safari set up and having all bookings taken care of for us in advance. I searched on google for almost most tour companies in uganda, we selected Home to Africa Tours and travel because their budget was affordable and they were so fast and quick at responding to your emails and all the questions. Elephants, giraffe, deer, antelope, warthogs, hippopotamus, crocodiles, hyena, lion, beautiful birds, and a leopard. It was incredible! The boat ride up the nile to Murchison Falls is a must do and a perfect way to end the tour. I Did not have any Idea on how beautiful Uganda is . wow, I highly recommend Home to Africa Tours and travel for anyone who is interested in adventuring Uganda to its fullest .
