Medieval Barcelona Semi Private Tour For Kids

Overview

During this 2 hours walking tour, your child-friendly guide will make sure every member of the group, even your little ones, will have a great time.

The tour will start at the Cathedral of Barcelona, St. Eulalia, considered one of the best examples of gothic construction. After visiting the Cathedral from outside, start to explore the Gothic District. The origin of this neighbourhood goes back to the ancient Roman times in 218 B.C. There was also located the Temple of August, now not much is left of this religious sight dated over 2000 years ago, this is the oldest ruin in Barcelona. This Temple was built under Tiberius, August heir, and was the focal point of the Imperial Forum in Barcino. If you are not sure what Barcino was, don’t worry; you will know it at the end of the tour. Find out if with your guide explanation you can imagine how this Temple was, and let us know your best guess.

The tour will continue the exploration of the Gothic Quarter, and your guide will make sure you will see the gems the neighbourhood hide. Keep walking to reach El Born, the most sophisticated and artistic area of the entire city. El Born is a real labyrinth of streets, all different from each other, a kind of world stock between ancient times, the Middle Age, and the modern styles. This is also been in the past a revolutionary neighbourhood, and the artistic vein that differentiates it proves its rebel soul.

Are you ready to imagine, feel, and discover a new world?

Having our own guide showing us around the city made a big difference when you have 2 kids in tow. Our guide was great with them and we all had a lovely day.

This was the only tour I booked before leaving Germany and I'm so glad I did. My 8 year old son and I went on the tour on our first morning after arriving and it really helped us get to know the area as we were staying nearby.

There was so much to see and do and my son fell in love with our guide. She kept him enthralled with our stories and I highly recommend this tour if you are sightseeing with young children.

As an adult looking on I was fascinated how our guide kept the 4 children in our group of 8 entertained. This was the first child themed tour we had ever taken and at the end of the tour I thought WHY did we not do this before?

Unless the kids are in the pool or at an amusement park, it can be hard to keep them entertained when walking around. I cannot thank this tour company enough for introducing us to this wonderful and new (to me) way to explore new cities.

We did this tour as a private tour, and it was one of the best tours for our kids during our trip to Europe. Our guide was very engaging, and ensured that we all learned quite a bit about the history and culture of the area. Thank you and we will recommend this tour to all of our friends.

I did this tour with my 8 year old daughter on my second day in Barcelona. I had booked the tour before my trip as I wanted her to learn a little bit about Barcelona, but didn't have much confidence in my own ability as a history teacher or tour guide. It was great! The tour included lots of activities like drawing and games, which made the tour really fun. Our guide was excellent, and my daughter really enjoyed the whole experience.

Lovely, tour of the highlights of the Gothic Quarter, with some secret locations we would never have found on our own. Our guide could not have been more sweet or attentive to our girls (5 and 9) and she was very accommodating in tailoring the walk to our specifications. A perfect guide for people who don't like traditional tours.

My wife and I love to travel and learning new things, but with a young family 5 and 7, finding things to do that hold the children's interest is difficult. We decided to try a kids tour and this one did not disappoint. We had an excellent tour guide. She kept the interest of the children at all times during the tour. My 5-year old was having a shy day but by the end she had gotten her to come out of her shyness. We booked this tour for our kids, ages 6 and 9, and were pleasantly surprised by how much fun it was for the accompanying adults as well. The tour was well-paced, with plenty of fun activities to keep the children interested throughout. Our guide was excellent and brilliant at engaging the children, and also knowledgeable; she was able to answer the children's (and our) questions with age appropriate levels of detail. Highly recommended!

Our kids loved this tour and seeing the narrow twisty streets. Our guide made it fun for them with her stories and visual aids which she used. I am so glad that these types of tours are available as it can be difficult to get your children to do a lot of walking on holiday.

Trying to balance our vacation so that the kids would not get bored and that they would learn something about Europe was daunting when we planned our trip. We saw this tour online and booked it and it was the best tour we booked. It suited all ages, however, our guide captivated our three girls from the moment we met, enticing them through the Gothic streets of Barcelona with her really interesting stories.

This tour was one of the highlights of our time in Barcelona. Our tour guide showed us places that we never would have found or noticed on our own. We learned about Barcelona's history in a very interesting way and even after the tour were able to ask questions about how to get to places, etc. Our sons, 9 and 6, both enjoyed it and we were able to look around the old town without them being bored.

We took the private tour so it was just five of us. Barcelona was the last stop of our cruise and we only had one full day to spend in the city. We wanted to do some sightseeing and we booked this tour before we started our holiday. Initially I was concerned that our 3 young children would get bored as they had already spent two weeks visiting various ports and seeing many cities and historical sights. A big THANK YOU to our guide as she really won our kids over. The children really loved the narrow, winding streets of the Gothic district. They create quite a labyrinth and it would have been difficult to get our bearings if we had not have been on a tour with our guide. All said, this is a tour I would recommend if you have young children.

I was really worried that my 8 year old twin boys would not stay focused and get bored during this 2 hour tour. I need not have worried. They both really enjoyed themselves and the reason for this was our wonderful guide. She kept them entertained and played little games with them. This tour is great for all ages and there are plenty of wonderful sights to see. I personally loved how the old and new merged in the Gothic district. Thank you.

5 STARS. We did this kid friendly tour with our 6 and 7 year old girls. I have never done a walking tour with our kids before and I wasn't sure how much they would enjoy it but I need not have worried. Our guide was great with the children and really interacted with them. The two hours passed by so quickly.
