Overview

By no doubt, you cannot leave Venice without visiting the three gems of the Venetian Lagoon: the islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello.

Get ready to set out on a journey around the Venetian lagoon, enjoying breathtaking views over the St. Mark's Basin then heading towards the northern part of the Venetian lagoon, where the three islands are located.

Following a pickup from your hotel (if possible), the first stop of the tour will be Murano Island. Here an amazing glass art tradition developed. You will marvel in front of the manual skills of a master craftsman showing how a glass masterpiece comes to life.

The next stop will be the fishermen island of Burano, famous for its colourful houses and peaceful atmospheres. This is a true paradise for photography lovers and for people who wish to explore a deep side of Venice, where local people still live their simple and ordinary life on a little island away from the crowds.

According to a local legend, Burano got its rainbow appearance thanks to the fishermen that lived there, who used to paint their houses in bright and light colours so that they could find their way home while coming back from the sea. The island is also known for its rare artisan lace.

The last stop of the tour will be the quiet and green island of Torcello, a little island suspended between mystical tales and the ruins of a glorious past not many people are aware of.

Apart from the timeless atmospheres and green sceneries typical of the wild lagoon, not many people know that Torcello was the first islands of the Venetian lagoon to be populated, and was once a thriving center.

Today only a few inhabitants live.

Murano, Burano and Torcello - each has a distinct character of old world charm, beautiful canals and landscapes. Murano was lovely, the tour included the visit to the glass factory which was fascinating, then onto Burano, very, very picturesque with its coloured houses and canals, my favourite island then onto Torcello with a lovely walk along the canal to view the cathedral, very peaceful. I thoroughly recommend this tour as great value for money.

This tour was just right for us. Cruising on the lagoon and stopping at 3 very different Islands away from the city. It was great that we also had time to walk around without feeling hurried after 3 hectic days touring around Venice. My two favorite islands were Murano and Burano and the glass factory was amazing. We had good weather and a good guide who gave us plenty of information as we travelled between the islands. There were eight of us on the tour, so I think that roughly 80 Euro’s each was a good price to pay for a super day out.

The glass factory demonstration was amazing. Burano is a beautiful island and we could have done with longer there, but here is much to see and explore. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to explore this beautiful and historic area and who wants to get away from the bustle of the city for a while.

Great trip for those with limited time in Venice. Burano particularly beautiful with all its coloured houses. We only had 3 days in Venice so this was the perfect way for us to get to see more than just the main city. We watched a Master Glass Blower create a small vase and a horse, then we had 40 minutes free time to walk around. Next the boat took us to Burano where we had 45 minutes free time wandering around looking at the lovely coloured painted houses and lace shops. The final island stop was Tocello and overall this was a good tour and which the kids really enjoyed.

In Murano we were shown a glass blowing demonstration and then the bulk of the time was spent in the attached glass factory shop. Burano was beautiful and I wished we had have had more time to spend there. This 3 island tour is a great day away from the city and was a quick and easy way to visit three destinations in four hours.

Great experience and value of money. Burano was my favourite island; I really loved the different coloured houses. The glass blowing exhibition is great and it is excellent to watch something being made before your eyes, though they were expensive if you wanted to purchase anything. Our guide was friendly and the boat trip itself was very relaxing.

This is a great introduction to each island. We knew that we had limited time to spend on the islands, however, we really enjoyed the time we had. The boat trip was relaxing and cooling after spending a very hot morning in Venice.

We really enjoyed this. I wish we'd had more time in Murano but it was a wonderful way to get a quick view of the 3 islands. The glass blowing exhibition is great and it’s excellent to watch something being made before your eyes. Overall a good tour if you only have a short time to spend in Venice.

If you are only visiting Venice for a few days then this is the tour for you. We booked this tour online and had already done the city tour with the same company. We were only in Venice for 3 days which made this tour perfect for our short time frame. The islands were beautiful and the glass factory was amazing.

Murano is interesting, and watching the glass blower display his craft is very impressive. Burano is certainly the highlight, so remember to have your camera ready because the colorful houses are beautiful to photograph. All in all I think this is a value for money tour. If you have more time on your hands then you could opt to do each island separately.

Great tour overall. Wish we could have spent a couple of minutes longer on each island, as 30-40 minutes is not that much. However, everything was very well organized so we didn't feel like we missed out on that much. The glass factory in Murano is good and it is fascinating to watch the glass blowers at work. Burano is very pretty and has lots of brightly painted houses which look great in your holiday photos and I loved Torcello, although it has only 11 permanent residents it is lovely and peaceful after the crowds in Venice.

One of the best decisions to book a tour to all three islands. Each had its own interesting history and unique architecture. There was amazing glass blowers in Murano, incredible lace making in Burano and all the history of Torcello.

If you have a spare half a day with nothing planned this is a great adventure to see a different part of Venice. The islands are very close together, we watched the glass blowing, which was incredible. Went to the island with the colourful fishermen’s houses and where they make all the lace and . The third island really only has a church on it but it's still nice to walk around.
