Tantalising Tasting Times at Vineyards on a Private Tour of Tuscany

Have some tantalising tasting times when visiting vineyards on a private tour of Tuscany. However it is not all lushish vineyards, it is a city of significant historical landmarks, architecture, natural landscapes and sandy beaches.

There is something for every type of holiday you can think of:
Mountains for the energetic to climb, Architecture for the budding designer, city tours of museums, galleries and landmarks for the historian, Vineyards for the amateur wine taster and beaches for the sun worshippers.

One of the most quirky and visited Towers in the World is found in the city of Pisa in the province of Tuscany, due to the fact that it is ‘leaning’ to one side and for a bit of trivial information it is not the only building in Pisa that leans!

The language spoken in Italy today originated from Tuscany; the Italian spoken today is based on the dialect spoken by the people of Tuscany dating back to the Renaissance period.

Cortona
1 This small, precious hilltop town of Cortona offer lots of interesting sites to see on guided tour. Great local wines are perfect served with famous Chianina steak, the high-quality meat bred in Valdichiana, where the town is located. Stroll down the historical centre and find traces of the Roman and Etruscan civilisations or museums housing wonderful works of art, then try out local restaurants for a taste of typical Tuscan cuisine.
Leaning Tower of Pisa
2 Take a guided tour of the Leaning Tower of Pisa which is the campanile or freestanding bell tower for the Cathedral of the Italian city of Pisa which is known worldwide for its unintended tilt. Due to some ill-conceived design plans and a shallow foundation, the Tower of Pisa started to lean, but as a result, the world has a great tourist attraction. The town of Pisa has many other tourist attractions to visit while here.
Florence
3 The marvellous city of Florence is a great place to take a sightseeing tour or stay for a few days. The capital of Tuscany, this city is exciting and promises not only the most famous museums of Italy but fantastic shopping, amazing art and history matched nowhere else in the world. A very romantic and charming city with lots of delicious restaurants and cafe’s for that expresso or even a gelato.
Chianti
4 A guided tour of Chianti will no doubt end in a fabulous wine tasting tour in one of the vineyards. However, it is not all about the wine here there are lots of historical places with the Etruscan tombs in Castellini in Chianti or visit the charming parish church of Sant’Appiano. It is a wonderful place to take a tour and enjoy a glass of wine after a long day seeing all the sights.
Volterra
5 Take a sightseeing tour to Volterra or as it also is referred to, the Etruscan City or Alabaster City. It has great archaeological sites where you can see remains that date back to Etruscan and Roman times or the treasures from the Medieval and Renaissance times. As you stroll through the narrow lanes, see the workshops exposing alabaster hand-made products which are the main jewels in the crown for Volterra.
Sarteano
6 A great sightseeing tour to take is the one to the small village of Sarteano which is located between two valleys, the Val d’Orcia and Valdichiana. As you get near the village, you see the impressive Castle that stands guarding the town. It is a small castle, but it is where you can see Etruscan tombs which are some of the most important in all of Tuscany, a fabulous 17th-century theatre and significant artistic masterpieces.
Island of Elba
7 Take a sightseeing boat tour to the Island of Elba which is the largest in the group of Isles in Tuscany. This island is most famously known for being the island that French Emperor Napolean was exiled to in 1814. The seas around the island is home to one of Europe’s largest marine parks and on the boat trip explore the excellent coves and inlets while looking upon the jagged coastline which all add to the beauty of Elba.
The Uffizi Gallery
8 Take a guided tour of the very precious treasure chest that is the Uffizi Gallery. In the Gallery, there is the long labyrinth of well-organised rooms that display amazing works of art in chronological order. The stunning frescoes ceilings alone are worth a visit to this gallery, but there are countless artefacts here in amongst the grandiose building of fabulous architecture that will take your breath away.
The Academia Gallery
9 The highlight of a guided tour of The Academia Gallery has to be the magnificent giant marble sculptures that were created by Michelangelo that include the infamous glorious ‘David’. There are, of course, so much more to see in this gallery that will amaze you and keep you enthralled. Some of the sculptures are so intricate and full of detail, they will astound you. It is certainly a memorable place to visit.
Duomo In Florence
10 Duomo is Florence’s most iconic landmark. The doomed roof is capped by Filippo Brunelleschi’s red-tiled cupola and its breathtaking pink, white and green facade really dominate the medieval cityscape. The interior has frescoes by Vasari and Zuccari and around 44 stained class windows. When on a guided tour you are also brought down the to Cripta Santa Reparata. There is nearly 'too much' to see here that is fascinating.
