Vatican Highlights Small Group Tour

4.8 / 5 total 15 reviews
Duration: 3 hours
Tour ID: 2261
Overview

With our Vatican Highlights Small Group Tour you will have a guide who will share with you their knowledge and help you to really appreciate the treasures housed inside the Vatican.

The group will be a maximum of 22 people so that you can be sure every member of the group is engaged in the tour, can ask questions and interact with the guide. You will meet your private guide at café Vaticano at 8:30 am.

You will start your tour from the Vatican Museums, where countless works of art are carefully preserved. You will explore it all from the frescoes by Raphael and Michelangelo housed in the Raphael Rooms, to the painted topographical maps that adorn the ceiling and walls of the Gallery of Maps, to the world-famous Sistine Chapel, with its beautiful ceiling and the Last Judgment by Michelangelo.

Crossing a special passage connecting the Sistine Chapel to the Basilica, you will easily enter St. Peter’s Basilica, avoid standing in line outside. Designed by geniuses such as Bramante, Michelangelo and Bernini, St Peter’s Basilica is the biggest and most famous church in the world.

The Basilica of St. Peters is not a museum, it is a church and sometimes it is closed for Liturgical celebrations without notice.

This will not affect your Vatican Museum tour. If the Basilica is closed you will visit another section of the Vatican museums that are not included in the itinerary.

The tour will have a regular duration of 3 hours. Private guide and pre-purchased skip the line tickets are included in the price.

Do you want to become the Vatican greatest expert? Do you want to enjoy the best tour with a small, friendly group? Choose our Best of the Vatican Small Group Tour and get ready to have a great time!

My husband and I visited Rome for the first time and we really wanted to see the Vatican. My daughter booked this tour for us before we left. It was easy to find our meeting point and we were greeted warmly from our guide. She was very knowledgeable and personable and we had a lovely morning visiting the Vatican. Thank you for being so friendly and for looking after us. Jennifer and Graham

This was by far the best tour we had during our trip to Italy. The Vatican gets so crowded so we booked the jump the queue tickets. Our guide was so informative and engaging. His explanation of the Sistine Chapel made the paintings alive. I never thought a 3 hours tour could be so interesting and educational and the time just flew in. Worth every Euro!

Booking was easy and the meeting instructions were clear. Our guide was amazing and gave us insights and good historical context for everything we saw. We did not have to queue and our headsets were very good (had a bad experience before). A good tour which I recommend!

The museums and Sistene chapel were simply amazing as was Saint Peters church also. Rome is simply a must see city. There were only 8 people in our group which made it more special. Our guide spoke good English and really explained the history of the Vatican in a good way.

There is so much to look at and take in that three hours is not enough. Our tour guide was very interesting and without her we would have missed so much. Whether you are religious or not the Vatican is a must see when you are in Rome.

Worth paying to ‘skip the line’ as when we finished our tour the lines were unbelievably long. The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. He was able to answer everyone’s questions.
