Overview

Book Our Vatican Tour With Cabinet of the Masks and Enjoy a Unique Tour

Why?

First of all, you will enter the Vatican Museums ahead of the opening to the general public, to avoid the crowds of the day.

Second, you will visit not only the highlights of the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel and St Peter’s Basilica.

But the cherry on the cake will be the exclusive visit to the Cabinet of the Masks, a part of the Museums which is usually closed to the general public.

Itinerary:

The visit will start when you meet your private guide, just outside the entrance to the Vatican Museums.

The meeting will be at 7:30 am and your guide will begin immediately to explain the history of the Vatican. You will enter the Museums at 8 am: stepping inside one hour before opening to the general public you’ll find the galleries less crowded, and you will have a wonderful experience. The guide will expertly guide your group through the Vatican Museums’ extensive galleries, to let you intake all about the history and art of the works contained in the Museums.

Our clients will have one more special treat: with this tour, you will have the chance to visit the famous Cabinet of the Masks. This area is usually precluded to visitors, but it is very worth visiting! Its name comes from the beautiful Roman mosaics depicting masks that enrich its floor.

Your tour will continue with the most important part of the Vatican, Michelangelo’s masterpiece Sistine Chapel. The earlier access will allow you to admire its beauty with a limited number of visitors and to enjoy it fully.

A special passageway will let you enter St Peter’s Basilica: you will avoid one more queue! Your guide will explain all about the most important Church in the world, pointing out at the art and architecture contained.

Choose our Private Vatican Tour with Cabinet of the Masks: enjoy it at best with our skip the line early entrance, access to a restricted gallery all with the expertise of a knowledgeable private guide!

The tour includes the Vatican Galleries including Cabinet of the Masks, Tapestry gallery, Maps gallery, Raphael’s Rooms, Sistine Chapel, Basilica of St. Peter and Peter’s Square.

The art and architecture here will blow you away... it truly is astounding and the most beautiful place I have visited in Rome or anywhere in fact. I could spend hours in there just looking at the amazing paintings. Our guide really knew what he was talking about and I am so pleased that we took the morning tour and avoided the crowds.

As we only had limited time in Rome, we had to make the best use of it. This tour is the way to go for a first time at the Vatican. My friends had warned me about queues to get in – not with this tour. Our guide (can’t remember her name) was great with a good command of English. A very good tour to take and I can’t recommend it enough.

This was our first time to Rome and we wanted to know all there was about the Vatican. We booked in advance for a guided tour starting at 7.30am in the morning. We walked right in, no line at all and our guide was great at explaining all of the detail to us. It was a bonus to see the Cabinet of the Masks, though the Sistine Chapel was my favouite.

I booked this trip for my parents who were visiting Rome for the first time and who had always wanted to see the Vatican. They really enjoyed it and said that the guide was great.

The pictures in the books and on the internet just don’t do it justice. Everywhere you go in the Vatican is amazing, but the chapel was out of this world. We had a good guide who explained in great detail about what we were seeing and she was not boring at all.

A great guide… not only did she guide us around the Vatican, naming and explaining everything with extreme ease, she was friendly and not boring. Well worth the money and go early in the morning.

What a beautiful site! Museum is awesome, Sistine chapel is breath taking and a good guide will surely make you understand and appreciate everything you are seeing inside. And that was what we had, a GOOD GUIDE who made the tour come alive for us.

The artwork is indescribable and the postcards do not do it justice. A must see. We paid for a guided tour which skipped the ques. This was worth every penny.

We bought skip the line tickets with a guided tour for the Vatican City, the museum and Sistine chapel. It was well worth skipping the line for and as an added bonus we saw the cabinet of the masks.

Pictures do not do justice to the beauty of the artwork in the Vatican. A skip-the-line ticket is highly recommended to avoid the very long lines even in the cold and pouring rain as it was on the day we visited. Our guide was really good and entertaining and I highly recommend this tour.

Avoid this tour in the summer if you can. Crowds of people take away from the majesty of the artwork. We went in Feb and it was still busy. However; we booked the early morning guided tour and there were no lines to stand in.

Getting my daughter up for this early morning tour was a bit of a challenge. She was a bit grumpy to start with but as the tour started she perked up and due to the great guide she really enjoyed herself. This tour was extra special as we go to see the Cabinet of the Masks along with everything else in the Vatican. Great morning was had by all.
