A fantastic full-day private tour of Rome
Our customised one-day private tour of Rome is the best way to take in as many historical sightseeing places as possible and yet it is a smoothly-paced tour that will allow you plenty of time immersing in the great history of the Ancient Rome.
The choice of transportation is a luxury Mercedes Minivan of a capacity of 12 persons. At 8:00 am, I will pick you up at your hotel. All the way through our one-day private tour of Rome both water and soft drinks are provided by the courtesy of me. Since there will be a lot of walking during the tour, comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
The morning program of the private tour of Rome focuses on the Vatican City. The Vatican Museum is one of the largest museums in the world. Just in 2013 alone, it was estimated there were more than 6 millions of visitors making it the 6th most visited art museum. Imagine that you will be one of the millions to be actually physically there this year! Included in the immense collection are some of the most famous classical sculptures and the most important masterpieces of Renaissance art.
At the end of the Museum is the Sistine Chapel which is the place of Papal Conclaves and functions mainly as the Chapel of Papal Chapel. And yet, it is mostly famous for its interior frescos decoration, especially the fresco of the Last Judgment by Michelangelo. The next highlight of this morning is the Basilica of St. Peter, the largest one in the world. Once again Michelangelo displayed his exceptional sense of art and architecture in the design of the Dome of the Basilica of St. Peter.
The last stop for the morning is Pantheon. Almost 2000 years after its construction, the Pantheon is the only structure of its age and size that has successfully survived the damage of time and gravity, still intact with all its splendor and beauty.
Lunching at an Italian restaurant is quite enjoyable; with the price around 20-30 Euros per person you will have so many choices to choose from.
The afternoon program of our one-day private tour of Rome includes the Colosseum, the most magnificent Arena in the world, Aventino Hill to look at the ‘ key hole’ of the knights of Malta, the catacombs which provide a rare glimpse into the earliest centuries of Christianity such as the catacomb of Domitilla and the catacomb of San Callisto, the Trevi Fountain to throw a coin and wish your dream come true, and the Spanish Steps to simply enjoy the atmosphere of a relaxing afternoon with lots of photo taking.
Oh yes, at the end of your full-day private tour of Rome your probably will be exhausted but I am sure you will be going home with fantastic experiences after all those visits mentioned above.
