“The Raptor and Wildlife Refuge of Tasmania Incorporated is committed to securing the future of Tasmania’s raptors by reducing human impacts through rehabilitating injured, sick or orphaned raptors, educating the public and supporting habitat conservation.”
The Refuge Is a working refuge not a zoo or wildlife park.We do however now offer a unique experience for small numbers of interested people to view and get up close and personal to these truly amazing creatures.Visits are therefore available on an appointment only basis to the general public. Group visits to our education centre can also be facilitated.
The Raptor Refuge celebrated the release of a resident Wedge Tailed Eagle, who after six months of rehabilitation was released at Lake St Clair.
Want to learn more about the rescue and release program? You can book to attend a Rescue and Release Workshop. You will go on a journey of discovery learning about Tasmanian Raptors and what is involved from the rescue to the release. This is an educational, exciting and fantastic opportunity to learn and get up close and personal with these magnificent creatures.
